GERMAN CHOCOLATE POUND CAKE 
1 bar German sweet chocolate
1 3/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. milk
1 c. butter, softened
1 egg yolk
2 c. all purpose flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. salt
3 eggs

Melt chocolate over hot water. Cool. Sift flour, sugar and salt together. Stir in butter. Add dry ingredients to milk and vanilla. Mix to dampen flour then beat with mixer for 2 minutes. Add eggs plus 1 egg yolk and chocolate, continue beating for 1 minute longer. Pour batter into greased and floured tube pan. Bake 65 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove and cool completely before icing. This cake will not rise as high as regular pound cake.
