4 c. flour
4 1/2 tbsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. mace
1 c. sugar
3 tbsp. butter, melted
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. milk

Sift all dry ingredients together. In a large bowl, beat eggs, sugar, butter, vanilla, and milk. Add dry ingredients; mix well and let chill with cover for 1 hour. Roll 1/2 inch in thickness; cut donuts and fry in hot deep fat. Put in a sack, sugar and cinnamon, and shake donuts to cover.
