PORK AND SAUERKRAUT 
2-3 lbs. fresh pork
1 qt. sauerkraut
Salt and pepper to taste
1 chopped onion
Water

Put pork in large stew pan and cover with cold water. Cook slowly for 1 hour. Add onions, salt and pepper, and sauerkraut, making sure there is enough liquid in pan to cover. Cook slowly an additional hour. Serve with mashed potatoes.
