FLOUR TORTILLAS | |
You can buy these at the grocery store, but they will never be as good as homemade. Makes about 12. 4 c. WW flour (1/2 white) 1 tsp. salt 1/4 c. oil 1 3/4 c. warm water Mix flour and salt together. Add oil and mix with hands until well blended. Stir in water to make a stiff dough and knead with more flour until elastic. Let set 30 minutes or so, then pinch off large walnut-sized balls and roll out very thin. Cook on ungreased griddle or cast iron skillet, turning when covered with large bubbles. They should take about 1 1/2 to 2 minutes a side. Remove from heat and place between towels to keep warm and moist until dinner. |
