CORN PONE OR DODGER 
2 c. cornmeal
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. fat
1 3/4 c. boiling water

Pour boiling water over other ingredients. Beat well. When cool form into thin cakes and bake 30 minutes in a hot oven (400 degrees) until crisp. Good with butter or gravy.
