OLD VIRGINIA CORNBREAD 
1 c. Stoneground white cornmeal
1/3 c. sugar
1 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. milk
6 tbsp. melted butter
1 beaten egg

Mix dry ingredients. Add the rest and mix until smooth. Pour into buttered 8- inch dish or cast iron skillet. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
