1 c. sugar
1 c. flour
2 eggs
1/2 c. butter
5 tbsp. milk
Scant tsp. baking powder

Mix all ingredients together and beat 5 minutes with electric beater or 7 minutes by hand. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until done. Use loaf pan, 9 1/2 x 3 inches. Double for bigger cakes.
