5 onions, chopped 6 tbsp. oil 4 cloves garlic, finely chopped 5 lbs. ground round steak 5 tbsp. flour 5 (19 oz.) cans tomatoes 5 tbsp. sugar 10 tbsp. chili powder 4 tsp. salt 5 tsp. paprika 5 (14 oz.) cans kidney beans Brown onions well in the oil. Add garlic and beef gradually (about 1 pound of beef at a time) until beef is browned. Stir frequently. Stir in flour. Add the tomatoes, sugar, chili powder, salt and paprika. Stir to mix and cook over moderate heat for 30 minutes. Cool as quickly as possible, by putting cooking pan in a bowl of iced water. Cover well and store in freezer. |
