DELUXE POUND CAKE 
2 sticks butter + 1/2 c. shortening
3 c. sugar
5 eggs, added one at a time
3 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. evaporated milk or half and half
1 tsp. coconut flavoring
1 tsp. rum flavoring

Mix all ingredients together and pour into a greased and floured pan, tube pan or large bundt pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours. Remove from pan and put topping on while hot.

TOPPING:

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
1 tsp. almond flavoring

Let come to a boil and then brush sauce over hot cake. Rich and fat.
