1 1/2 pkgs. dry yeast 4 c. lukewarm water 7 tbsp. Crisco 2 tbsp. salt 3 tbsp. sugar Enough all-purpose flour to make stiff dough In a large bowl, mix water and yeast until yeast is dissolved. Add Crisco, salt and sugar. Add flour to make a stiff dough. Put on a floured board and knead until it is stiff, put in a greased bowl; let rise until double. Knead again about 5 minutes. Make in loaves and let rise again until double. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until done. Makes 4 loaves. |
