RICE AND PEANUT BUTTER GRAVY 
1 lb. hamburger or steak, cubed
1 med. onion, chopped
3 c. whole canned tomatoes
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
2 bay leaves
1 c. shredded cabbage
1/2 c. peanut butter
1 or more c. water
Cooked rice
Red pepper (optional)

Brown meat and onion in large deep sided skillet. Drain grease and add tomatoes, salt, pepper, bay leaves and cabbage. Simmer about 30 minutes.

Mix 1/2 cup peanut butter with enough water to make smooth paste. Stir into meat mixture and cook 10-15 more minutes. Serve on hot rice. Sprinkle with red pepper, if desired.
