AMBROSIA SALAD 
1 (11 oz.) can mandarin oranges, drained
1 (15 1/4 oz.) can pineapple chunks, drained
1 (6 oz.) jar Maraschino cherries, drained
1 c. coconut
1 c. miniature marshmallows
1 pt. sour cream
1 tsp. salt

Cut cherries in half. Add remaining ingredients. Mix thoroughly. Make 24 hours ahead of time and store in refrigerator. Serves 6 to 8.

Some variations we have used: slice a banana in just before serving; add the following; 1 c. green grapes and/or 1 c. slivered almonds. If I ever used the cherries, it was just for garnish on top. They tend to discolor it too much. Also, beware the knockoff recipes using cool whip. It just isn't the same at all.
