MY BROWNIES FROM SCRATCH 
3/4 c. butter
2 sqs. (2 oz.) unsweetened chocolate
1 1/3 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease pan (13 x 9 x 2 inch) with shortening. Put butter and chocolate in saucepan; heat until melted, stirring once or twice. Remove from pan. Stir sugar into chocolate mixture. Stir in the 3 eggs, one egg at a time, until well mixed. In a small bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir into chocolate mixture. Turn into pan and bake 25 to 30 minutes. Cool pan on rack. When cool, sprinkle with powdered sugar. Cut into bars. Makes 24 to 36 brownies.
