EASY SWEET ROLLS 
2 c. sifted flour (use self-rising flour)
1/4 c. shortening
3/4 c. milk
1/2 stick butter (melted)
1/2 c. sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Lightly grease a round cake pan.

Cut shortening into flour and then mix in milk a small quantity at a time until a good smooth dough is formed. Roll dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick and brush with melted butter. Combine sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle evenly over dough and roll up like a jelly roll. Slice into 1/2 inch slices. Place slices in prepared pan. Bake 18 to 20 minutes or until done.

ICING:

1 c. confectioners' sugar
3 tbsp. milk
1/4 tsp. vanilla flavoring or extract

Mix together until a smooth glaze is formed. Ice sweet rolls. Yield: 16 to 18 rolls.
