FRESH APPLE CAKE WITH FLUFFY
FROSTING
 
CAKE:

1 1/2 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
4 c. finely cut apples
1 c. whole bran cereal

FROSTING:

2 1/2 tbsp. flour
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
Nuts

Sift flour, soda, cinnamon and nutmeg. Cream butter and sugar. Add beaten eggs. Add pared, finely cut apples. Add whole bran cereal. Bake 40 minutes at 350 degrees in 9"x13" pan; cool.

FROSTING: Cream butter and sugar. Cook flour and milk until thick. Cool. Add flour milk mixture to creamed butter sugar. Beat and spread on cake. Sprinkle chopped nuts on top.
