SOPAPILLAS 
4 c. flour
2 tbsp. shortening
1 c. milk
4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt

Sift dry ingredients into mixing bowl. Cut in shortening; then add liquid and mix until dough holds together. Turn out on floured board and roll out thin, about 1/16 inch thick. Cut into parallelograms about 2 by 3 inches. Fry in deep fat about 2 or 3 minutes on each side. They will puff up and become hollow. Drain. Serve with honey.
