EGGLESS, MILKLESS, BUTTERLESS
LOAF CAKE
 
3/4 c. sugar
3/4 tsp. nutmeg
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/4 c. water
5 level tbsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. raisins
1/3 c. shortening
2 c. flour

Combine sugar, spices, salt, raisins, shortening and water. Boil 3 minutes. Let it get lukewarm. Add flour and baking powder. Bake at 325 degrees in a glass loaf pan for 45 minutes. Do not peek in the oven!
