CHILLED BAKED PEARS 
6 lg. firm pears
12 whole cloves
1/4 c. maple syrup
1/4 c. orange juice

Halve pears lengthwise, peel, core and discard skin and blossom ends. Pierce each half with 2 cloves. Place, rounded sides down, in baking dish. Mix syrup and juice and pour over fruit. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes or until fruit is tender when tested with fork. Chill before serving. Serves 6.
