1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. buttermilk
3 1/2 c. plain flour
1 box dates, cut sm. pieces
1 lb. orange
1 can coconut

Dissolve soda in buttermilk. Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time. Add flour and milk alternately. Roll nuts, candy and dates in 1/2 of the flour. Add to this 1 can coconut. Mix all together. Bake in tube pan at 250 degrees until done while hot. Add Orange Sauce.

ORANGE SAUCE:

1 c. orange juice
2 c. powdered sugar
