PRUNE NUT BREAD 
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
3 eggs
3/4 c. cooked prunes, chopped
1/4 c. milk or prune juice
2 1/2 c. flour
4 tsp. baking powder
2 1/2 tbsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. orange juice
1/2 c. chopped nutmeats

Cream shortening, sugar and eggs. Add prunes and milk or prune juice. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon; add alternately with orange juice. Add chopped nutmeats.

Pour in 2 small or 1 large loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 to 1 1/2 hours, depending on pan size. Bread is done when it is firm to touch and stops singing when held close to the ear.
