1/3 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 tbsp. light corn syrup
1 tbsp. lemon juice
2 lg. cooking apples, such as Granny Smith
1 stick packaged pie dough mix
Ice cream (optional)

Place butter in 9-inch glass pie plate. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Place pie plate in oven until butter is melted. Remove from oven; stir in brown sugar, corn syrup and lemon juice. Core apples; cut into slices. Arrange slices over brown sugar mixture in circular pattern.

Prepare pie dough according to package directions. Roll dough into a round 1/4-inch thick. Drape over apples, tucking sides in around apples. Bake tart at 30 to 35 minutes, until crust is golden brown. Remove from oven and cool 5 minutes. Invert tart onto serving plate. Serve with ice cream, if desired. Makes 6 servings.
