SHOYU CHICKEN WINGS 
2 lb. chicken wings
3/4 c. soy (shoyu) sauce
1/2 bag Chinese sugar or 3/4 c. regular sugar
1/2 c. water
2 tbsp. Crisco oil
2 pieces star anise
1/4 tsp. Chinese 5 spice
1/2 tsp. Accent or MSG

Clean wings and separate at joints. Bring all ingredients except chicken to a boil. Add wings and simmer 40 minutes. This is good for a crowd. It may be made ahead
