CHEESE AND HERB STRAWS 
3 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. ground red pepper
1 tsp. dry mustard
1 tbsp. mixed dried herbs
Pinch of salt
3/4 c. butter
2 c. grated sharp Cheddar cheese
1 egg, beaten

1. Sift the flour into a bowl. Add the ground red pepper, mustard, herbs and salt; mix well.

2. Rub in the butter until the mixture resembles fine bread crumbs, then stir in the cheese. Bind the mixture together with the egg.

3. Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut into 3 x 1/2 inch strips. Twist and place on baking sheets. Bake at 425 degrees for 10-15 minutes until golden. Serve warm or cold.

Makes 70-80.
