WINTER FRUIT COMPOTE 
1 can pears, peaches, chunk pineapple
1 jar maraschino cherries (opt.)
1 can depitted plum
1 sm. jar raspberry or strawberry applesauce
1/2 stick butter
1/2 c. brown sugar

Drain and cut all fruit. Combine in large casserole dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 45 minutes. Top with 1/4 cup brown sugar and 1/4 cup chopped walnuts (optional) for last 15 minutes. Makes a warm fruit side dish or topping for ice cream. Reheats well.
