EGG NOG 
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
Dash salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla or rum flavor
3 egg yolks
4 c. scalded milk
3 egg whites
1/2 pkg. instant vanilla pudding mix

Beat the 1/2 cup sugar into egg yolks. Add 1/4 teaspoon salt and stir in scalded milk slowly. Cook on medium heat - stirring constantly until mixture slightly coats spoon. Do not boil. Cool, add dash salt to egg whites and beat until stiff. Add whites to custard with flavoring and pudding mix. Mix thoroughly and chill at least 4 hours. To serve: Pile lightly into punch cups and sprinkle with nutmeg.
