OATMEAL SCOTCHIES 
3/4 c. flour
1/4 c. oat bran, sifted
1 tsp. baking soda
Pinch of salt
1/2 rounded tsp. cinnamon
1 c. butter
3/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. brown sugar, packed
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla extract
3 c. rolled oats
1 (12 oz.) pkg. butterscotch chips

Cream together butter and sugars, until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time, and vanilla. Sift together and into cream mixture the flour, oat bran, soda, salt, and cinnamon. Mix well. Add oats and chips. Drop by tablespoonfuls on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 375 degrees for 7-8 minutes for chewy cookies or 9-10 for crisp cookies.

COOKIE BARS:

Spoon all dough onto cookie sheet with sides. Spread to sides and corners. Bake at 375 degrees for 15-18 minutes, until slightly puffed in center. Remove from oven and cool before cutting.

Makes 4 dozen 3 inch cookies or 40 bars.
