1 c. dark brown sugar
1 c. white sugar

Cover well with water and boil until it will break against the side of glass when tried in cold water. Then add 2 tablespoons sweet cream and 1 teaspoon butter. Beat very thoroughly in a cool place. When cool add 1 teaspoon vanilla just before spreading.
