MY MOM'S CHILI | |
1 lb. ground beef 1/2 c. chopped onion 1 or 2 minced garlic pieces 1 tbsp. chili powder, or to taste 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper 1/4 tsp. black pepper 2 cans tomato soup 1 can red kidney beans Brown the ground beef. Add the onions and cook lightly. Drain the excess fat from the beef. Add seasonings to taste. Add the soup and the beans. Stir and mix well. Water can be added to thin the mixture if necessary. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover and simmer for at least 30 minutes. The longer it cooks, the better it tastes, but do not let it burn. Stir it occasionally to prevent sticking. Tastes great with corn bread muffins on the side. |
