LENTIL SOUP 
1 1/2 c. brown lentils
4 med. potatoes, cubed
3 med. onions
1 c. celery
1 clove garlic
1 c. sliced carrots
2 tsp. crushed basil
2 tbsp. olive oil
1 1/2 c. crushed tomatoes
1 qt. water
1 c. red wine

Wash and drain lentils. Using large pot, lightly brown potatoes, onions, garlic in oil. Saute lightly. Add water and remaining ingredients. Simmer until well done. Add more water if necessary.
