CARAMEL APPLES 
1 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. light corn syrup
1 (15 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
1/8 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
6-8 apples (medium to small is best)
Short wooden skewers or craft sticks

Combine all ingredients except vanilla in heavy pan. Cook to soft ball stage. Add vanilla. Dip apples on sticks to coat. May also be spread on with a knife.

Place on wax paper lined cookie sheet in refrigerator. (Far superior to melted Kraft caramels!)
