SKY HIGH BISCUITS | |
2 c. all-purpose flour 1 c. whole wheat flour 4 1/2 tsp. baking powder 2 tbsp. sugar 1/2 tsp. salt 3/4 tsp. cream of tartar 3/4 c. butter 1 egg 1 c. milk (approx.) Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Use ungreased cookie sheet. In a large bowl, combine the flours, baking powder, sugar, salt and cream of tartar. Cut in the butter until mixture resembles coarse meal. Add egg. Add milk, a little at a time until dough is good consistency for rolling. Knead lightly on a floured board. Roll or pat gently to 1" thickness. Cut into 1" to 2" biscuits. Place on cookie sheet, sides touching and bake for 12 to 15 minutes. |
