1 c. tepid water 1 env. yeast 1 tsp. sugar 1 tsp. salt 1/4 c. oil 3 c. all-purpose flour Mix water, yeast, sugar, salt and oil. Add 1 cup flour, mixing well. Then slowly add 2 more flour (1 at a time). Knead until elastic, and all stickiness is gone. Make into a ball, place in greased bowl, also greasing top of dough. Cover with tea towel and let rise in a warm place until double its bulk. Punch dough down, divide into 2 portions. Spread out on pizza tins with fingers. Makes 2 large pizzas. FILLING: 1 tin pizza sauce 1/2 tsp. oregano (or basil) 1 1/2 c. grated or sliced Mozzarella cheese OPTIONAL TRIMMINGS: Salami slices Pepperoni slices Green peppers Mushrooms Anchovies Sprea d the tomato sauce on the pizza dough, sprinkle with oregano (or basil) and use trimmings as you like. Top with grated or sliced cheese. Bake in very hot oven, 420 degrees for 20 minutes. Serves 8 to 10. |
