GARDEN CASSEROLE | |
1 1/4 lbs. ground chuck 2 1/2 c. water 1 c. rice 1 lg. onion, chopped 4 beef bouillon cubes 1 1/2 tsp. dry mustard 2/3 c. chopped mild cheddar cheese 1 med. green pepper, chopped 1 med. tomato, chopped Cheese slices for garnish Paprika for garnish Saute ground chuck in large skillet, drain off all fat. Stir in water, rice, onions, bouillon cubes and dry mustard. Bring to boil and stir. Reduce heat, cover and cook on medium heat for about 20 minutes or until rice is tender. Add chopped cheese, stirring to evenly distribute cheese. When cheese is melted, add pepper and tomato. Stir as for addition of cheese. Pour in casserole. Place small slices of cheese on top. Garnish with paprika and parsley. Place under broiler until cheese is melted. |
