SALTED PEANUT CAKE 
1/3 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 c. buttermilk
1 1/2 c. ground salted peanuts
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg and buttermilk. Add 3/4 cup of the ground peanuts. Sift flour and baking soda and add to creamed mixture. Add vanilla. Bake about 30 minutes, cool and frost.

POWDER SUGAR FROSTING:

2 c. powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
3 tbsp. melted butter

Mix all ingredients and add milk to make it a spreading consistency. Spread on cake and sprinkle with remaining peanuts.
