APPLE SLICES | |
2 c. flour 1/2 c. Spry 1 tsp. salt 8 tbsp. water 1 tbsp. lemon juice 2 egg yolks Mix flour, Spry and salt with a fork until crumbly. Add rest of ingredients, divide in 1/2, roll 1/2 to make bottom layer to fit 13 x 9 inch cake pan. Add tapioca on bottom layer. Sprinkle enough to partially cover. Add sliced apples. Layer them approximately 2 inches thick. Sprinkle with 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon and 1 cup sugar, sprinkle more tapioca on top of apple slices. Roll remaining dough to cover apples. Bake at 400 degrees for 1 hour. PREPARE FROSTING: 1 c. powdered sugar 2 tbsp. butter 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1 tbsp. cream Mix together, add to apple slices while they are warm. |
