WINE-MUSHROOM HAMBURGERS | |
1 lb. ground beef 1 tbsp. minced onions 1/4 c. cream 1/4 c. milk 1 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 2 tbsp. butter 2 tbsp. flour 1/2 c. beef bouillon 1/2 c. dry red wine 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce 2 tbsp. chopped parsley 1 can (4 oz.) sliced mushrooms 3 or 4 slices of toast Combine beef, cream, milk, onions, salt and pepper. Make patties. Melt butter in skillet over medium heat. Add patties and brown well on both sides. Remove patties and keep warm. Add flour to drippings in pan and stir to blend well. Add bouillon and wine. Cook stirring constantly until mixture boils and becomes thick. Add the Worcestershire sauce, parsley and mushrooms with liquid. Add salt and pepper to taste. Return patties to sauce. Simmer over low heat until meat is cooked to desire. Place meat patties on toast slices and pour sauce over the top. |
