SEVEN MINUTE FROSTING 
2 egg whites, room temp.
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 c. Karo syrup (red label)
1/2 c. sugar
1/8 tsp. salt (opt.)
1 tsp. vanilla

Place egg whites, cream of tartar, syrup, sugar and salt in the top part of a double boiler. Beat with a rotary beater until partially mixed. Place over rapidly boiling water and cook while beating constantly with a rotary beater until the frosting stands in peaks, 3 or 4 minutes. Remove from heat and continue beating for one more minute. Add vanilla, beating in well. (Lemon or other flavorings may be substituted.)
