SOPAIPILLAS 
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 c. warm water
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. shortening

Mix dry ingredients. Cut in shortening. Stir in warm water. Turn dough on a lightly floured surface. Knead about 5 minutes. Cover dough with plastic wrap. Let rest 30 minutes. Roll dough about 1/4 inch thick. Cut into 3 or 4 inch squares. Pour oil 3 inches deep into a saucepan. Heat to 400 degrees. Drop squares one at a time in hot oil. They should puff immediately. Cook until golden brown. Turn once. Drain on paper towel. Serve with honey.
