SNOWBALL COOKIES 
1/2 lb. soft butter
4 tbsp. sugar
2 c. flour
2 c. chopped walnuts
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix sugar and butter together; blend in flour and vanilla. Pour in walnuts. Roll into balls, no bigger than a walnut. Bake in slow oven (375 degrees) for 1 hour. If your oven tends to brown the bottoms, put a pan of water in the very bottom of oven. Let cookies cool slightly, then roll them in powdered sugar; roll them in powdered sugar again when they are cold.
