CHERRY NUT FRUIT CAKE 
2 cups maraschino cherries
2 lb. pitted whole dates
5 cups walnut halves
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
6 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 cup cherry juice

Sift together 3 times, flour, sugars and baking powder. Fourth time, sift over fruit and nuts and mix well. Beat eggs well, add vanilla and cherry juice and mix well. Add to fruit mixture.

Tip: Put in large bowl and mix well with hands.

Grease two (8x4x2-inch) pans well and line bottoms with waxed paper.

Bake in 300°F oven for 1 1/2 hours. One big pan will bake for 2 hours.

Makes 2 fruit cakes.
