BUTTERSCOTCH BROWNIES 
1/4 cup shortening
1 cup light brown sugar
1 egg
3/4 cup sifted flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup nuts

Melt shortening, blend in brown sugar; cool. Add egg, dry ingredients, vanilla, nuts. Spread in greased & floured pan.

Bake 20-25 minutes at 350°F.
