CHOCOLATE CRACKLES 
4 sq. unsweetened chocolate
1/2 c. salad oil
2 c. granulated sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
4 eggs, unbeaten
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. nuts (optional)
1 c. powdered sugar

Melt chocolate in mixing bowl over hot water. Remove bowl from water. Blend in oil and sugar; add vanilla. Add eggs one at a time; beat well. Sift flour with baking powder and stir into chocolate mixture. Add nuts.

Chill the soft dough overnight or several hours. Drop by teaspoon in powdered sugar. Roll around and make into small balls. Bake on greased baking sheet 10 minutes at 350 degrees. Makes 6 dozen cookies. Sugar will crack while baking.
