GINGER BREAD COOKIES 
2/3 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. light molasses
1 beaten egg
1 tsp. cloves
2 c. enriched flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. ginger

Thoroughly cream shortening and sugar. Add egg and molasses; beat well. Add sifted dry ingredients. Mix thoroughly. Roll 1/8 inch thick on lightly floured surface. Cut with floured cookie cutter. Bake on greased cookie sheet at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes.
