RAISIN DROP COOKIES 
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1/3 c. milk
1 1/2 c. rolled oats
1 c. seedless raisins
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. ginger

Cream thoroughly 1/2 cup shortening with 1 cup sugar (granulated or brown). Add 1 egg, well beaten, 1/3 cup milk, 1 1/2 cups rolled oats and seedless raisins (may be less) and 1/2 cup chopped walnuts, if you like. Add to this mixture 1 1/2 cups sifted flour, sifted again with 1/2 teaspoon each of salt and soda and 1 teaspoon each of cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger. Drop from spoon on well greased pan about 3 inches apart. Bake in moderate oven about 15 minutes.
