1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
3/4 c. dry bread crumbs
1 egg
1/2 c. applesauce
1 tsp. salt
Pinch of pepper
2 tbsp. chili sauce
1 sm. onion, finely chopped

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, thoroughly mix all ingredients except chili sauce. Place mixture in a greased 9 x 5 inch loaf pan and bake for 30 minutes. Spread the chili sauce over the top of the loaf; return it to the oven and bake for an additional 30 minutes, until no pink remains in center.
