APPLESAUCE LOAF 
1/2 c. butter, softened
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
3/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1 1/4 c. applesauce
1/2 c. raisins
1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Cream butter and sugar until light. Beat in egg. Stir together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt and cloves. Gradually add to creamed mixture. Beat applesauce into batter. Stir in raisins and nuts. Pour into a greased and floured 9 x 5 inch loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Remove from pan; cool on wire rack. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Makes 1 loaf.
