MELT AWAY SHORTBREAD | |
1 stick butter 1/2 c. vegetable shortening 3 tbsp. sugar 2 c. all-purpose flour 1 c. flaked coconut Mix all ingredients together thoroughly and form 2 rolls. Wrap in wax paper. Chill until they can be sliced neatly - 1 1/2 hours or more in freezer, or overnight in refrigerator. Slice about 1/4 inch thick, place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 20 minutes at 375 degrees. Sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired. |
