CABBAGE SOUP | |
1 lb. ground turkey or beef 1 large onion 4 c. chopped cabbage 2 ribs celery, chopped 1 can pinto beans 2 small cans tomato sauce 2 tbsp. vinegar 1 can tomatoes, chopped 1 tbsp. chili powder 4 to 6 c. water salt and pepper to taste Place turkey and chopped onion in a large pot and brown. You may drain if you like but there will be very little grease from the turkey. Mix in remaining ingredients and cook slowly until cabbage is tender. The amounts of cabbage, onion and celery are not critical. Also, you may increase the amount of chili powder if you like. The amount of water may be varied to your taste. A few chopped jalapenos will add a nice touch if you like hot peppers. |
