1 German Chocolate cake mix

Mix according to package. Pour 1/2 into well greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.

Melt together:

1 pkg. Kraft caramels
1/4 c. Carnation Evaporated milk
1 stick butter

Pour this over the baked cake. Be sure both cake and caramel mixture are hot. Sprinkle 1 cup chocolate chips over caramel mixture.

Top with remaining cake batter. Bake at 350 degrees for another 15 to 20 minutes. Can be served plain or with Cool Whip or ice cream.
