OLD - FASHIONED APPLE CRUMBLE 
18 tart apples
1 c. brown sugar, packed
3/4 c. granulated sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon

TOPPING:

3 c. butter
3 c. flour
3 c. sugar
1 tbsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon

Peel, core, and thinly slice apples. Toss with sugars, salt, and cinnamon. Pour into lightly greased large baking pan. In a separate bowl, mix topping ingredients with a pastry blender until the consistency of cornmeal. Sprinkle in a thick layer over the apples. Bake at 350 degrees for 60 minutes. Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped topping.
